X‐Initiative presentsthepremiereofPoolNoodleRooftopbyJeffreyInaba’sLosAngeles‐based practice,INABA.Therooftopspace,whichwillbeusedforfilmscreeningsandspecialevents, will be open to the public daily during selected visiting hours throughout the summer. Four separate seating areas cluster around a ‘X’ shaped carpet that covers the entire rooftop surface.

Thefurniture,whichisalsoX‐shapedinplan,hasbeenconstructedfrompoolnoodles-thelong andcylindrical,foamwater flotation toys.Thepoolnoodleshavebeencutandbunched verticallyintochaiseloungeandottomanunitsofvaryingheightsthataccommodateupto150 people.Whenviewedfromabove,thearrangementofbuoyantseatingmaterialspellsoutthe word,‘bububluooopppp’-thesoundofsomethingeitherrisingorsinking.

Attheendofthesummer,thefurniturepieceswillbedonatedforreusetolocalcommunity organizations.
