jarmund/vigsnaes architecture: farm house
July 13, 2009
ocated in toten, norway this farm house by jarmund/vigsnaes architecture echoes the materials and design
of an old barn. the private home covers only 165m2 but feels light and spacious thanks to a continuous
band of windows that wrap around the home. this window allows light to enter and provides panoramic
views of the norwegian landscape. the outside of the home is clad in old wood and was designed to
reference the old barn, which is to be torn down on the site. inside most of the home is left very bare
with expose beams and plywood paneling on the walls.
