the design museum in london will host an exhibition of the new ‘landscape’ ceramics
collection designed by patricia urquiola for rosenthal. the collection includes dinner ware, tea-sets,
cutlery and glasses. the collection has been in the works for over two years and blends smooth and
simple lines with textured surfaces. urquiola explains, ‘the pattern is erratic, sometimes filling the form and
at other times escaping’. the pieces have a translucent quality and take reference points from western
and oriental ceramic styles. in addition to showcasing the final collection, the exhibit will also trace the

entire design process as it progressed.
