Jewelry Store Interior in Copenhagen by Hammer Lassen Architects

Here’s the traditional workshop and jewelry store located in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. The interior was designed by Hammer Lassen architects. The building has been renovated and fitted with respect for the original expression and the classical qualities. The interior was decorated in minimalist style and white as a dominant color. The traditional windows with small mullions have been connected vertically across two floors, and the entrance to the shop has been moved to the end of the entrance corridor. The entrance area is hereby engaged as an architectonic element.

The new elegant windows stress the connection between the two floors, let in lots of daylight and add a modern, characteristic openness toward the street. The entrance area has been transformed into a ”chest”, accentuated by the classical barrel-vaulted ceiling.

Walls and ceiling are clad in mirror-like metal-sheets, creating a magical, illusory effect. The shop and the workshop are distributed across the two floors, mezzanine and ground floor.

The new location of the entrance has made it possible to open up between the two floors and create a double-high entrance area leading up to the shop and down to the workshop. The interior space has been cleaned entirely to create a singular, strong exhibition element; a white wall and show-case, with a luxurious stucco lustro marble plaster finish.
